Margaret (Peggy) Platt 1813 - 1880

Margaret, known to everyone as Peggy, was born into what Mum always believed was a wealthy Jewish family which owned an engineering business at Milnrow, later called Mathers and Platt. The only information that I have found on the Platt's leans toward them being Christian (see links).

I don't know much about Peggy, but the facts point to a sad life, as she outlived four of her own children and was a widow for nineteen years. Apparently, the Platt family also ex-communicated her for marrying James Crossley
